Service Description

The LMK K9s Environmental Exposure Class at Greenbrook Adventure Park offers a unique hybrid training environment, combining open preserve space, paved sidewalks, and large open fields with a dog park used strictly as a controlled distraction. This location is ideal for dogs learning to transition smoothly between calm, structured movement and higher-distraction scenarios—without sacrificing obedience or handler engagement. This class centers on structured pack walking, teaching dogs how to move calmly and purposefully alongside other dogs while maintaining neutrality, spacing, and focus. Dogs learn to regulate their energy in a group setting while navigating changing terrain and environmental pressure. Handlers will work extensively on structured leash-walking obedience, including loose-leash skills, position, directional changes, stops, and controlled movement along paved sidewalks and open paths. Strong emphasis is placed on leash handling skills, helping handlers communicate clearly through proper mechanics, timing, and body awareness. A key component of this class is working around—but not inside—the dog park. The Paw Park is intentionally used as a high-value visual and auditory distraction to teach impulse control, neutrality, and engagement. Dogs are coached on passing other dogs calmly, ignoring fence-line excitement, and remaining focused on their handler despite elevated stimulation. No dogs enter the dog park at any time during training. For dogs who have demonstrated reliability, impulse control, and earned the privilege, off-leash freedom may be incorporated in appropriate open-field areas. Off-leash work reinforces accountability, engagement, and real-world obedience while maintaining structure and safety. This class is ideal for dogs building strong public manners, leash reliability, impulse control, and confidence around other dogs—while learning to work calmly through layered distractions in a structured, real-world setting.
